In the beginning it was dark. There was water everywhere”(Indian creation myth). This quote has an element that is commonly used in creation myths. Many cultures have creation myths which are unique to their identity but at the same time contain common themes for example water, perfection and people being created from mud or clay. This is amazing due to the fact that these cultures are so far apart geographically and people in the past didn’t migrate much and it proves people in the past thought the same. Most of the creation myths have water in common. They either involved diving into the water that covers the earth to retrieve some earth. The earth that is brought to the surface becoming the land we know today. (Mauidu Indians of California). In some creation myths the world was created from water for example the first being in the Norse creation myth was made by melted ice. Also in a Russian creation myth, it explained that mud was floating on water and it was in the shape of a human face. Leading to the creation of people in many creation myths the creators sought after that their creation were flawless. Often the supreme beings they didn’t like what they had created, and wiped them out for example in the Yoruba creation myth. This mentions that the humans were out of proportion they either had one leg or to many legs and the supreme beings wiped them out and started all over again. This is similar to the Russian creation myth, which explains that women were perfect until the dog’s betrayal in which he allowed the devil give womankind a bad temper.Another common element in creation myths is mud or clay. The reason the God(s) used mud and clay was because it was common thing to find, for instance even in the Chinese myth, the goddess Nuwa created the first humans from mud and clay also the Russian creation myth mentioned that there was floating mud in the shape of a human’s face so that gave the creator the inspiration to make humans.Creation myths give explanations. They speak about the past and show that people thought the same in the past, no matter how far apart the countries were on the map.

"Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it.” I chose this one because i portrays the kind of journey i was thinking of, which is finding new things, using your skills, learning more about your surroundings and just becoming an explorer. Though he doesn't look like he is having fun in the picture it would be fun and also great experience to learn from if i were doing it. I've read many journey book and it doesn't really matter about where he reaches, what matters is the obstacles he goes through and also the determination.
